Why are there only four cup holders when the table seats six?
Four cup holders is probably enough some of you.
For those who want six, we have added the two more possible cup holder location in the middle of each long side of the table. After the campaign, you will have the option to buy an additional cup holder pack.

Does the bottom of the topper scratch top of the table?
No there are felt pads on the bottom of the topper.

How much leg room is there?
The distance from the floor to the bottom of the table skirt is 26 1/4 inches.
The area where the cup holders slide under the table extends down another inch.
There is a small chance that table dimensions will change slightly as we do further strength testing.

How heavy is the topper?
Around 60 lbs. Because of its size, it is almost impossible for one person to put it on or take it off of the table, but it is a easy job for two people.

How is it possible for a two piece topper to be spill proof?
There are support boards on the underside of the topper, right where the two topper main boards come together. During assembly you will screw those two support boards together. This pulls the two halves of the topper tight to each other.
There is also a tongue and groove in the topper that creates a little bit of overlap. So, it isn’t a straight shot for the water to go through.

Will there be any add-on options for purchase after the campaign?
Yes
1) Additional cup holders (for the 5th and 6th cup holder positions) 2) Additional playmate (same colors as the first playmat) 3) Wing shelves (shelves that fit inside the play area) 4) Stand alone card holders 5) Poker chip trays
We are still working out the details and pricing for these options. We won’t have those details before the end of the campaign. Even though we don’t have all the details, I want people to know that these add-ons will be an option.

Are you are going to offer Duchesses in other shapes or sizes in the future?
Never say never, but I really doubt it.
The 3’ x 5’ size is by far our most popular size. That is why we choose it for the Duchess.
Additionally, it would be much more difficult to get the shipping price down for a larger table.
If you want a table at this price, then this is your chance.
If you want a larger table, then you should look at the custom built options on BoardGameTables.com.

Is "The Duchess" the same as "The Traditional" table on your website?
No. While the dimensions are very similar, the tables are very different in other regards.
The Duchess is a well made table. It is factory built, ready-to-assemble furniture.
The Traditional is a craftsman piece. Handmade by woodworkers with 20 years of experience. Made in Joplin, Missouri with the highest quality woods. Completely customizable. Built one at a time just for your order. The legs detach, but the rest is one solid piece.
Both tables are excellent value for there money. I’d be happy to talk to you about “The Traditional” table and our complete custom table line. Or you can see more for yourself at boardgametables.com.

Is the possible that some details of the table might be changed?
Yes. What we have right now is a prototype. Funds from this Kickstarter will allow us to move forward and create a more refined prototype and then the final product.
It is possible that, as we move forward in the process, changes will need to be made. This is especially true when talking about non-visible components or minor dimension changes (don’t worry, I will make sure your X-Wing playmat still fits).
